Parenting styles are associated with different child outcomes, the authoritative style is generally linked to positive behaviours such as strong self-esteem and self-competence.
Researchers have posited that there are links between parenting styles and the effects these styles have on children. Some suggest these effects could carry over into adult behaviour. Authoritative parenting has statistically been proven as the best parenting style to be implemented on children. It is an equal balance between authoritarian and permissive. If parents had implemented an authoritative style, the child will be well rounded and be very successful in life.
